Winter in Uttendorf

The winter is without doubt the season for ski- and snowboard lovers, or to go cross country-skiing. In and around the village you have multiple opportunities to make great runs down the hills. From Uttendorf to the ski-areas you can easily use the train or the buses (free upon presentation of a valid ski-pass), the train station is approximately a 10 minute walk from the guest house. And the several bus-stops to the ski-areas are also close by Pension zu Hause. Do you prefer to go by your own car? Also possible, the ski-areas have plenty space to park your car.

Ski-area Kitzski:
800 - 2000 m | 233 kilometers of slopes | 56 lifts
In about 15-20 minutes by car, or 20-25 Minutes with the bus (free with a valid ski-pass) you arrive at the valley station of the Panoramabahn (gondela) in Hollersbach. Also in about 15-20 minutes by car, you are at the middle station of the Panoramabahn (gondela) or at the Paß Thurn (chair lift, nursery slope, ski schools).
Zell am See - Kaprun:
Zell am See:
760 - 2000 m | 77 kilometers of slopes | 28 lifts
Kaprun - Kitzsteinhorn (Glacier):
768 - 3029 m | 62,5 kilometers of slopes | 23 lifts
In about 20 minutes by car or 25 minuten with the bus (free with a valid ski-pass) you are at the ski-ares of Kaprun/Kitzsteinhorn and Zell am See. Did you know that since a couple of years, there is a connection between the ski-areas of Zell am See and Saalbach-Hinterglemm!

Wildkogel Arena:
819 - 2150 m | 75 kilometers of slopes | 20 lifts
In about 20-25 minutes by car (entering the ski-area in Bramberg or Neukirchen) or 30 minutes with the skibus (free with a valid ski-pass) you are at the ski-area of the Wildkogel Arena. A real family-ski-area with mainly blue and red slopes.
Weißsee Gletscherwelt:
1482 - 2600 m | 23 kilometers of slopes | 8 lifts
In about 25 minutes by car or 30 minutes with the free ski-shuttle-service (stops down our road, needs to be booked till 17.00 P.M. at the day before) you are at the ski-area Weißsee Gletscherwelt, a small pearl! A lovely and relatively quiet ski-area where you can ski between the glaciers.

Pure winterfun!

Are you not a skier or snowboarder? Don't think that you will feel bored around here in the winter. Because also then Uttendorf is a great area to stay. In and around the village you will have the opportunity to go cross country-skiing, tour-skiing, walk with snowshoes, climb against ice-walls or go out for 'normal' hikes. For all the guests that are staying in our house we have a guest-card. With this card you can participate for free or for a reduced price in several nice activities and courses to learn some new sports. Once a week, a lovely family hike with torches will be organized in Uttendorf which is free with our guest card, a big recommendation for the whole family.
